Founder's Day Week for 2015

Peter Little sold the first six lots in Littlestown on July 15th , 1765
More details will be forthcoming for each of the days during this week.

Sunday July 12th- - Start with churches holding their morning services and asking their members to wear their colonial style clothing. Ending with old fashion service in Crouse Park around 3:00 PM.

Monday July 13th – Visit gravesites of Littlestown’s historic members. Release of the 250th Anniversary Book (Littlestown, 50 Years of change) – Ceremony at the Square

Tuesday July 14th - LAHS Program at Mud College One Room School House
Possible driving tour of where one room schools were located during the day.

Wednesday July 15th – Founder’s Day Parade

Thursday July 16th – Historic building tours; Historic church tours; Antique Farm equipment on display.

Friday July 17th – Honoring Littlestown’s Heroes (Armed Forces) at special event. Historic Window Display judging: Beard Growing Contest judging.

Saturday July 18th – Founders Day Picnic at the Community/ Rec Park

Good Ole Days(Saturday Aug. 15th) dedicated to celebration.


Celebration Dinner on August 22nd.

Programs will be held in the Methodist Hall at the rear of 50 East King Street, unless otherwise noted.
Most of these programs will begin at 7:00 PM

Littlestown Area Historical Society will dedicate all of their monthly programs to Littlestown's early history. (Example:) These could change

January 20th - Digges Choice Story - and "Kick Off" of the 250th anniversary year.

February 17th - The Andrew Shriver story (First settler in the Area)

March 17th - Peter Kline Story (Petter Little) - Also election of LAHS Board of Directors and Alvin Unger History Recognition award

Aprill 21st - Littlestown Early Church History

May 19th - Early Education in the Littlestown Area (Early church schools, one room schools of 1800's, Edge Hill Academy and finally the Littlestown Shool System.)

June 116th - Early Education in the Littlestown Area (Early church schools, one room schools of 1800's Edge Hill Academy and finally the Littlestown Shool System.)

July 14th - Visit Mud College School

August 18th - Andrew Shriver moves to Union Mills (Grandson of first Setter in our area) May be held atUnion Mills

September 15th - History of Utilizes in Littlestown (Electric, telephone, water system, sewage system)

October 20th - History of Newspapeers in Littlestown

November 17th - The Civil War and Littlestown

December 15th - Christmas traditions in early Littlestown.
